RFF 2020 Fantasy Racing Game Is HERE !
Attention Race Fans !
The Rolex
24 is a fleeting memory. The NASCAR
Hall of Fame has inducted its latest class of Inductees. There is some football game that’s gonna be
played and PattyKay Lilley has posted her Daytona article. That can mean only one thing - It’s a new Cup
season.
Along
with a new season it means it’s time to do some Fantasy Racing in the Race Fans
Forever’s
Fantasy Racing Game. 2019 Champion Kelly
Meiste outdistanced the field last season. Can you use your knowledge and
skills to unseat the Champion in this season-long Fantasy League? Are you ready to match your skills against
Kelly and the rest of the RFF Fantasy Racing Field in pursuit of fun, fame and
glory to be crowned the 2020 RFF Fantasy Champ?
Interested?
Want to know more?
It’s the simplest Fantasy Game around.
To play-
1)
Each
race week email in your pick to win the race and why you think they will
win. These need to be received no later
than midnight Wednesday before the race.
2)
Watch
the race to see how your driver finished. You will be awarded the same number
of race-points your pick earned. We pay
no stage points. or playoff points-just race points.
3)
Repeat
the process for each of the 36 points paying Cup races
4)
After
Phoenix, we’ll total up the accumulated points and the Racer with the most
points will be crowned RFF’s Fantasy Racing Champ!
Simple. Straightforward. Fun.
There
are no entry fees. Free.
Can’t be any better than that!
Single
pick each week. No team to pick. No salary caps to keep
up with. No trades. No
drafts. Just pick the driver you think will win this week and submit
along with a brief reason why you picked that driver. Can’t get any simpler than that! You can pick your
favorite. You can change every week. It’s your choice. Just
get your pick in by midnight EST Wednesday before the race to make the race.
Points
are awarded to each Fantasy Racer based on their pick’s finish in the race. Points
awarded using the NASCAR race finish points- 1st - 40 pts, 2nd- 35 pts, 3rd – 34 pts and continue “counting
by onesies” to 35th, which earns 2 points. 36th and lower receives 1 point.
There
are no Stages or Stage points or any of those other points NASCAR awards. Points
are awarded only on the race finish-the entire race finish.
No “Encumbered” finishes. We award points as they cross the line
on race day, not three days later after a select few go through tear-down in
the R&D Center. If your pick wins and NASCAR decides to later remove points, congratulations, you just
got lucky that day.
The
Champion is the Fantasy Racer with the most points at the end of the season. This
is a season long series. No Playoffs. No Chases, nor any other contrived
excitement “enchantements” we have all grown to “love”.
Just
champions crowned the way champions are meant to be crowned – on
their season of performance.
What
if you forget to submit your pick? Not a problem-we’ll
pick for you! If you forget to submit your pick, you’ll be given the 30th
place finisher from the previous week’s race. If more than one forgets for the week, the top ranked “misser” will get last week’s
30th place finish, the next
“misser” will get last week’s 31st
place finisher and so forth until all “missers” have a pick. If a Top Dog driver had
a bad week last week, missing a pick might not hurt too much, but why take a
chance? Get your picks in and get the driver you want.
Can
I pick a driver someone else has already picked? Sure, if that’s
what you want to do. Just remember if you do the same as
others, you get the same reward. If you need points you
can’t
get them doing the same as others.
What
if I change my mind? Can I change my pick? Not
after the Wednesday deadline. Before the deadline you
can make one change… but please keep this to a minimum.
What
do I get if I win? Fame, fun and glory. Bragging
rights each week for a race win. Bragging rights for the
season if you win the league.
Like
it? So how do I sign up? How does this work?
Email David Nance at danance57@gmail.com with your pick before 11:59 PM Wednesday,
February 12th to get in the game. The picks will be compiled and posted on the
RFF Fantasy Racing Game page by Friday (fingers crossed).
So
go to the web site, check how you stack up for the race on Sunday.
Watch
the race and cheer your driver on. A simple way to know
how many points you get is this-if you win you get 40 points, 36th or lower you
get 1 point, 2nd to 35th is 37 minus your finishing position.
Later race evening,
check your email in-box for race results and a reminder for next race picks. Please REPLY to this
with your pick and reason. That way it will come
back directly to David and not get trapped in Junk or Spam that sometimes
happens when you send it in separate email. NOTE-Remember if you
REPLY with your pick, I’m the only one to see your response. If
you want to your pick “secret” until
the “reveal” in Friday’s posting, select REPLY. If
you don’t
care or want to talk a little smack before Friday, then REPLY ALL is the way to
go as everyone in the email listing will see your pick and reasons.
After
your picks are received, you’ll
receive a confirmation email acknowledging your selection was received. This
is important for several reasons, but mainly, if you sent in a pick and you
haven’t received
a confirmation in a reasonable time assume something has happened. You can email David direct to try and locate
it.
Friday’s
race page posting will contain last week’s finish and current
point standings along info about this week’s race along with all
of this week’s
picks. You can always go there and add any additional comments
about your pick or how you see the race playing out. It’s a good spot to share
how you see your chances after the race lineups are set after qualifications,
just to keep things lively.
Repeat
the process for the rest of the season!
Simple. Easy. Cheap. Fun!
So
take a few minutes, gaze into that crystal ball, check the tea leaves, pour
over the statistics, decipher those NASCAR rules, apply your best
race-winner-picking skills and join us for a season of fast and furious Fantasy
Racing fun.
And
now for those most famous words in Fantasy Racing -
Racers, submit your picks!
