Pocono Double Header
Wrap-up and Results
This one is for the history books. Last weekend Pocono put on its first double header. It was a weekend that had been planned long before the pandemic hit and forced the Sanctioning Body to pull rabbit after rabbit out of their hats to get the season in before the snow flies. 325 miles on Saturday. Another 350 on Sunday. Back to back. History.
Hal Ashburn made history on the Fantasy side as well. Hal won both Pocono fantasy races including a forty-point win on Sunday with Denny Hamlin. Frank Buhrman also collected 40 points on Sunday (as if he needed it). Here are the results from the two races. Here is from Saturday’s race.

Here are Sunday’s race finish and Points standings which saw Frank remain on top and lengthening his lead while the rest of the field looked like a swarm of Murder Hornets fighting for position.

So that’s a wrap from the historic Pocono double header weekend. After the near perfect weekend who could blame Hal from quoting the late legend, Mr. Cubs, Ernie Banks... “Let’s play two!”

Before the pandemic, the Sanctioning Body introduced their new normal for the Cup series by moving the traditional July 4th weekend race from Daytona to Indianapolis. How is that going to work out? We’ll see on Sunday. The one thing we won’t have to go by is the crowd size indicator as the pandemic has forced NASCAR to run this as a fanless race.
Since we’ve never run this race at this time of the season it’s difficult to know which drivers and teams will best adapt to the change. Kevin Harvick won last year’s race. Former winners include Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch. Ryan Newman and Jimmie Johnson. Strong Non-winners include, Joey Logano, Clint Bowyer. Denny Hamlin and sneaking back into the mix is Matt Kenseth.
Let’s see who our Fantasy Racers think will conquer the longest race name in Motorsports run at this fabled track in racing lore. Take it away PattyKay...

Just doesn't seem right to be going to Indy on the 4th of July weekend. I want my Daytona back!
That said, I've been through stats after stats for Indy, for Road Courses, for Flat tracks and one name tops ALL of those lists. Doesn't break my heart that I'll be riding this week in the #4 of Kevin "Pops" Harvick!
Frank Buhrman
When I thought Sunday was on the road course, I chose Martin Truex Jr. to win, based on his strong left-and-right driving record. When I found out I was wrong, I checked his record at Indy: 27th, 40th and 33rd the last three years. Ouch. This can only mean one thing: Martin is OVERDUE for a good day, so we're going to stick with the #19 and hope there's a right turn involved in getting to victory lane.

Good gosh, this is going to be a tough choice. At this time, it is just a guessing game. No practice or qualifying. Think I will just go with #4, Happy Harvick. It is his time - again!
Berra Nordin
Hope everyone is safe in these Corona times and looking forward to what we hope is going to be a great racing weekend! Based on last weekend’s performance in the Cup, it leaves me with the choice between Hamlin and Harvick, but I don't like Hamlin too much and I don't want to jinx Harvick so I think I go with #9 Chase Elliott instead!
Kelly Meiste
The #18 will kiss the bricks again. He got spun out of the last race so he’s in the right frame of mind to get back in the Winners Circle. Get ready for it!
Vicq Ruiz
Going with Byron again in the hope that some of JG's #24 luck at Indy will adhere to him. Hey, the rest of my game plan for this year is "hope".......
Hal Ashburn
Guess I'll just keep on riding that Denny train. 3 out of 4 ain't bad. #11 for the win.
Will Dossett
It doesn't matter. It's still the worse track in NASCAR! It doesn't matter where you sit, all you can see is what's right in front of you. I'll go with the #8, Tyler Reddick again.
J. L. Steele
Kevin Harvick
John Barnes
I may as well take Harvick the rest of the season. Guess I'll start this week, so: Harvick
David Nance
I’ll try Kez this weekend. Wanted to go with #1 but will take #2 instead.
