Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Richmond 2
Recap
and Results
South Point 400
Las Vegas
On
the track the Chase/Playoff/Elimination/Whatever began but in Race Fans Forever
the season-long Championship continues.
This
week saw PattyKay Lilley have the top pick with Kevin Harvick. 35 points for second is usually a big help in
the points race, unfortunately for her points, leader Kelly Meiste finished on
her bumper, along with Frank Buhrman and Vivian Simons. This resulted in only picking up one point on
the points leader. It’s better than
losing a point but the races are winding down quickly and at this rate there
may be more points deficit than remaining races.
Overall,
it was a good race with seven of our competitors finishing in the Top 10. The Busch Brothers misfortunes ruined the
remainder of the competitors’ efforts as Kurt crashed out first while Kyle
spent the evening smacking walls and running over backmarkers.
Kelly
remains atop of the points standings.
Vicq advances to third position and Will Dossett picked up another
position in his points race.

Richmond
The
Traveling Circus is back east at Richmond for this week’s contest. Richmond used to be the deciding race of the
regular season but apparently ticked someone off and is regarded to the middle
race in the first three race Playoff Stage, sandwiched between Vegas and the
Roval Elimination Race.
Vegas
Winner Martin Truex Jr. won here back in April so he will be going for the
Richmond sweep. Half of the Chasers have
wins here with Kyle Busch (6 wins) leading the way. Other winners include Denny Hamlin (3), Kurt
Busch (2), Kevin Harvick (2), Clint Bowyer (2), Joey Logano (2). Brad
Keselowski and Kyle Larson have a win apiece here. The only other winner here is non-Chaser
Jimmie Johnson with three wins. Will
this week’s win come from this group?
Other
drivers who like Richmond include Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman and Austin
Dillon.
Looks
like there are a lot to choose from this week.
Let’s see who our Fantasy Racers are going with -

If
I can't do better than 1 point per week, then Kelly is safe because there are
not all that many weeks left! Richmond! Never cared much for this track since
they "improved" the old half-mile and went to a wide 3/4-mile. Took
all the fun right out of it. Now I have to be brutally honest. I know Kyle
Busch practically owns the track these days and might even win, but I'm not
picking him. All that whining and the crocodile tears have gotten to my last
good nerve. I'm sticking with #4 and riding with Kevin Harvick. At least that
way my heart and head are not at odds with each other.
Frank
Buhrman
I
always want to pick David Pearson here and choose an older race when he was
alive, but nobody will let me do that. Hamlin would be my hometown choice, but
that just doesn't feel right this time. Every time I pick Harvick, something
really bad happens, but the way my luck has gone lately, I'm going to fly in
the face of past failures and take the #4 at my hometown track.
Vivian
Simons
When
I asked my in-house expert, who will win at Richmond, he simply said "A
Toyota driver" but I can't pick just a Toyota driver, so that leaves
either Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin. I just cannot and will not pick Hamlin so
that leaves #18 to win this one.

First
off, I'd like to apologize to Kurt Busch and all his fans out there for picking
him last week!! Richmond this week and Kurt has won here a couple of times
before so if I pick #11 Denny Hamlin this week maybe Kurt can get
his win here instead!!!

I
had too much fun picking the #18 last week.
