Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Pocono 2
Recap and Results
Foxwoods Resort Casino 301
FINALLY! Kevin Harvick won a race. Was a hard fought battle as Denny Hamlin did a bit of last lap rubbing (rubbing’s racin’) but came up short as Harvick broke his 2019 drought, got SHR their first win of the season and scored an up close and personal encounter for he and his son Keelan with Loudon the Lobster!
Our Fantasy Racers has quite the day at NHIS as Berra Nordin made it back to back wins with his Kevin Harvick pick. He shared Victory Lane with J. L. Steele who also had the #4 as his pick. Pack racing was the norm this day as nine of the group finished in the top 10 riding with Martin Truex, Jr. or Kyle Busch. A single Joey Logano pick squeaked in at P9.
PattyKay Lilley continues to sit atop the point standings as Kelly Meiste continues to chip away at her lead. New Hampshire produced no position changes in the standings only a change in the differentials.

This Week’s Picks
Gander RV 400
The series stays up north another week as they return to the Tricky Triangle known as Pocono. We saw Kyle Busch get his last win of the season here. Based on the way he ran at the beginning of the season it’s hard to imagine he has gone six races without a win. Maybe a Pocono sweep is just what he needs to break his winless streak. We’ll all find out Sunday.
Can he make it three in a row?
Pocono has the usual cast of winners over the years-Kyle Busch (3), Martin Truex, Jr., (2), Kurt Busch (3), Jimmie Johnson (3), Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin (4) and Ryan Newman. Ryan Blaney and Chris Buescher got their first wins here. You have to factor in Kyle Larson, Clint Bowyer and Chase Elliott as possible winners here. Don’t forget NHIS winner, Kevin Harvick. He’s winless here but knows his way around. Maybe this week he will trade in a Lobster for a Gander and break his winless streak.
Lot to choose from.
Pocono is running traction compound for the first time at this track Sunday along with the low horsepower/no aero ducts setup. This all throws another wrinkle into the mix.
As always, lots to consider. Let’s see what our Fantasy Racers think about this week’s race.
News Bulletin! Kyle Busch RULES at Pocono! His last 4 races there show 3 wins and a 3rd! He got me up here in the clean air, so I think I'll just stay in the #18 and ride with KyBu one more time.
I have a proposal. There are too many cars in the Cup starting lineup these days who can NEVER (except at Daytona or Talladega, where reality is suspended) be picked to win a race. I think we should be allowed to pick the 15, 27, 51, 52, 53, or 77, and you earn triple the points that car actually earns that week. For the 99 or 32, it's twice the points, and for the 13, 34, 36 or 38, it's one-and-a-half times the earned points. That might spice things up. Until others see the light, though, I'll go with Martin Truex at Pocono, because it's not his best track, and he's been in a real slump. None of my more logical choices has worked out lately, so this is worth a shot.
Just use KyBu again this week.
We're back to Pocono again. Last time we were here I stated that Denny Hamlin was the fastest man on pit road!! Sorry Denny but you’re not!! A few weeks ago I saw some statistic on speeding penalties and on top of that list was Corey LaJoie with 6, followed by Kyle B and Ricky Stenhouse with 4 and Denny only had 3 penalties, I still dislike him but I'm sorry to say but I think he'll find his way back to Victory Lane this week, so put me up for #11 Denny Hamlin this week for me!!
Pocono will go
To one of the Captain's kids
I'm likin' the Deuce.
It seems the past few weeks most everyone has been on the Kyle B bandwagon. I'm hoping they now bail and go elsewhere and if I'm lucky I'll be the only one picking him this week (yeah fat chance right). So, mark me down for the 18 of Kyle B this week and let’s see how many drafting partners I'll have.
Well 1 of my ancestors said you never change horses in Yankee land. So, I guess I got Kyle again in the #18.
#24, William Byron
J. L. Steele
Safe money will go with Martin Truex, Jr. this week. What fun is there in being safe? I'm going with Ryan Blaney to earn his first win of 2019 this season, at Pocono.
The 22 struggled at NHIS but I think a win Sunday will help things all the way around.
So there you have it! Agree?
Disagree? Pick your winner and

Good luck and hoping for a safe, good race!
