Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Las Vegas 2
Recap
and Results
Big Machine Vodka 400...
Indianapolis
Not
much to say about this race except bad luck reigned. Berra Nordin, Hal Ashburn and Frank Buhrman
were the only Top 10 finishers this race as all had Denny Hamlin as their
Fantasy pick. Congratulations! Berra and Frank each advanced a position in
the points standing to shake things up.
Vicq Ruiz’s Daniel Suarez just missed the Top Ten. Let’s just say things dropped sharply after
that.
Points
Leader Kelly Meiste finished 38th opening the door for PattyKay Lilley to make
up some points. Unfortunately, her Kyle
Busch pick went up in smoke and she only picked up one point on Kelly.

Week’s Picks
South Point 400
Las Vegas
This
week begins the much anticipated… by the rest of the racing world… Chase/Playoff/Eliminations. Here at Race Fans Forever, we run a season
long Championship Series so this is just the 27th race
in a 36-race series.
What
it does mean is the Fantasy picks will probably narrow as NASCAR Karma seems to
step in so that only Chasers find Victory Lane from here on out. So stick with the field of sixteen now if you want a good
finish!
This
week’s field with be using the Indy setup-550HP and AeroDucts that Joey Logano
used to win back in the Spring. Vegas
has shown favorable to Fords of late as five of the last seven winners have
driven the Blue Oval to Victory Lane.
Will that hold true this week?
The
winningest active driver at Vegas is Jimmie Johnson with four wins. He’s not in the Chase, hasn’t won in forever
and is not driving a Ford so that may be a long shot. Brad Keselowski is next with three wins,
Kevin Harvick with two and Joey Logano, Martin Truex, Jr. and Kyle Busch each
with singles. All are Chasers so they
have to be candidates. Non-winners
include Chasers Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer. Non-Chaser and soon to be retiring Paul
Menard includes Vegas as one of his strong tracks.
So,
who’s it going to be? Who will get the
win and punch their ticket into the Second Round of the
Chase/Playoffs/Eliminations? Let’s see
what our Fantasy Racers think
PattyKay
Lilley
Last
week I went, as Kelly said, "to the dark side" and got to watch the
#4 win from my great seat in the garage... with KyBu. I'm far more comfortable
riding with Kevin and getting to enjoy Keelan in the winner's circle. This is
one of Kevin's best tracks... when the SAFER barrier doesn't get involved, so
that's where I'll be riding this week... in the #4 car!
Frank
Buhrman
Let's
see . . . dice bounce, right? So, in recognition of Vegas's other claim to fame
(besides the speedway), I'll go for Bad Brad bouncing back and ending up in Sin
City Victory Lane - #2, it is.

Vegas,
oh Vegas. What do you have in store for us? Maybe a surprise winner? Maybe a
hometown winner? Kyle or Kurt? Ummm, perhaps not. I
am ready for a Ford to be in Victory Lane again. Perhaps, it will be Brad, Joey
or Kevin? Yes, let's go for that. Can't pick all 3 so I think perhaps it will
be Brad in #2. Sounds good to me. Go Brad!!!
Berra
Nordin
Off
to Vegas this week and home game for a few drivers, and who wouldn't want to
win at the home track!! That and maybe first race of the "play off"
may make some going a little bit over the edge, So I'm thinking maybe #1
Kurt Busch can keep his cool and take home the win here!!
Vicq
Ruiz
Winless
streak will end
Kyle Larson will run the table
and lock in round two!
Kelly
Meiste
Well
I sure crapped out last week picking Snake Eyes (2 of Brad) at Indy. So,
since we're in Vega this week I'm going double or nothing. So
let my bet ride again for the Deuce of Brad this week.
Hal
Ashburn
Well
Vegas, I think Busch; every time I think Busch, I lose points. So, Penske wins
the day. I think it will go 2, 12, 22 so my pick will be the #22 Joey.
Will
Dossett
I'm
staying with Yung Money, 42.

I’ll
take the #18. It’s a Win-Win
situation. If he wins, I get the points
and if he doesn’t, well he doesn’t. I
love it when I can’t lose!
So,
there you have it! Agree? Disagree?
Pick your winner and post it in the comments below.
Good luck and hoping for a safe, good race!
