Talladega
Race
31 of the season took two days to run as Mother Nature stepped in to stop the
race after Stage One. When racing resumed, the Traveling Circus crashed, flew,
beat and banged their way through the final two stages to the Finish Line, with
Ryan Blaney nipping Ryan Newman by .007 seconds. Vivian Simons picked the #12 for the win and
after a first stage spin put him behind the Eight Ball, Blaney worked his way
to the front, carrying Vivian to the 40-point Fantasy win.
The
40 points allowed her to advance a position in the Points standings as did Hal
Ashburn with his third place Denny Hamlin pick.
Kelly Meiste continues to lead the points but still has a mirror full of
PattyKay Lilley.
Below
are the results for the second Talladega race of the season.

Kansas City
It’s
back across the Mississippi to Kansas City for Race #32-the elimination race of
the Playoff’s second stage. 40 drivers
will compete using the Talladega 550 HP/Aeroduct setup that Ryan Blaney won
with last week and Brad Keselowski used to win here in the spring.
The
Chasers are sitting pretty here as Kevin Harvick leads with three KC wins,
followed by Brad K, Martin Truex Jr. and Joey Logano with two wins. Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin are Chasers with
wins here.
Non-Chasers
rarely visit Victory Lane once the Playoffs start, but Jimmie Johnson has three
wins here while Ryan Newman also has a KC victory notch in his belt. Talladega Winner and Chaser Ryan Blaney,
Chaser Clint Bowyer and Eliminated Chaser Kurt Busch also run well here. So who will it be?

on to see who our Fantasy Racers think will conquer the Kansas City mile-and-a-halfer.

Mile
and a half track! There are two guys that win the hog's share of these and one
is my guy. I'll be riding in the #4 with Kevin Harvick this weekend! Love to
see Keelan when Dad wins!

OK,
I dropped down a spot last week, so time to double down. Actually, I should be
happy Logano finished as high as he did, after his car played the role of a
ping pong ball as much as it did. Oh, well. . . This week, I'm going with Martin Truex Jr. He
had a horrid weekend last time the circus was at Kansas, and I can't believe
the team is bad enough to do that twice, especially given how strong he's been
here in the past. A Clint Boyer win would be storybook stuff, but I think the
Jersey boy will triumph this weekend.

My
pick can be sung to the lyrics of the song Kansas City. "We're going to
Kansas City. Kansas City, here we come. We're going to Kansas City. Kansas
City, here we come. They got a crazy way of racing there, and I'm gonna pick a
driver to win. We're going to Kansas City, Kansas City, here we come. I'm gonna
be sitting in my easy chair and watching TV. I'm gonna sitting in my chair with
my snacks by my side. Well, I might pick Brad, or I might pick Joey, but if I
want to win, then I have to pick that #4, Happy Harvick to be taking that
trophy.

Well
Dega is now in the books, and that left me with no idea, no plan and no feeling
for this weekend Kansas race! So what to do? I'll just pick one, I hope maybe
this time #19 Martin Truex Jr and his team has figured out
how far they can tweak on the car without being caught up with inspection
issues and get to start upfront and get the win or at least a decent
finish!

Aw
heck, let's not switch
He knows the track, needs the win
Elliott - yes - again
Kelly
Meiste
I'm
glad Dega is in the mirrors now and I survived "almost"
untouched. Now it's time to go back to the cookie cutter
tracks. So it looks like I'll be joining the majority of you this week in
jumping on the Harvick band wagon. So mark me down for the #4 this week.
Hal
Ashburn
Denny
Hamlin, #11.

Sometimes
you're the windshield; sometimes you're the bug! Staying with Young Money
in the 42.

Based
on his recent record there, my head tells me to go with Martin Truex, Jr.
Racing is an emotional sport though, so I have to go with my heart. No one
needs a win right now as badly as Chase Elliott. He's my pick.

That
Matty D pick looked pretty good until the last Big One. This week, I’m going to share the pain a bit
and go with Kyle Busch...
