Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Kansas 1
Recap
and Results
GANDER RV 400
Dover
Mother
Nature decided that the 50th Anniversary Race at the Monster Mile really didn’t
need to be run on Sunday. The fleet of
Air Titans were the only thing that logged laps on Sunday and it was Monday
before the field of 37 rolled off to take the Green Flag.
When
it was all over Martin Truex Jr. had come from the back and through the field
to take the win, holding the Golden Miles the Monster in Victory Lane, securing
the win on one of his many home tracks. Team mate Kyle Busch provided the
post-race fireworks unleashing his disappointment in the ineffectiveness of the
HP/aero setup there.
The
fantasy race may have been better. Six
racers finished in the top 5, seven in the top 10, and our entire field
finished within 10 positions of one another.
Although no one picked the race winner, Will Dossett’s
Kyle Larson pick finished third for the Leader of the Pack in this race. Impressive performance overall.
As
far as I know there were no post-race fireworks.
Kelly
Meiste remains atop the leaderboard this week with PattyKay in his tire
tracks. Behind them the field is still
shuffling in a very tight point’s race.
Here is a closer look at the race results and points standings
This
Week’s Picks
Digital Ally 400
Kansas City
It’s
back across the Mississippi River to Kansas City as 40 Cuppers will roll off
using the Michigan setup of 550 HP/AeroDucts to challenge for the Digital Ally
400. Chase Elliott has been on a roll of
late and won the October race here. Can
he back it up and keep the streak going?
Kevin Harvick has three wins at Kansas and is the defending race
winner. Can he get in the 2019 win column and make it
back to back? Jimmie Johnson has won
three races here, while last week’s winner, Martin Truex Jr. has won two. Joey Logano has two wins, while Brad
Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin each have a win here. Can any of those repeat? Drivers who look to break into the Winners
Circle include
Kurt
Busch, Ryan Blaney and Clint Bowyer.
So
who is it going to be? Let’s see who our
Fantasy Racers like for this week’s Digital Ally 400.
PattyKay
Lilley
I'm
growing weary of looking at Kelly's posterior all year. Time to pick a winner.
Mama will have a heapin' helpin'
of #4, Kevin Harvick at Kansas! Kelly, hands off! Go with someone else!
Frank
Buhrman
Before
Martinsville, I vowed to pick Kyle Busch for six straight races, to see if his
talent and Joe Gibbs car could overcome the jinxing power of my pick. As we
move to the sixth and final week, that question remains open: Kyle has a
Bristol win and four finishes of eighth or lower (including a downward spiral
of 8th 9th and 10th the last three weeks). Anybody who wants me to pick the
driver they really hate for the next six weeks can send cash as an incentive.
Kyle's record at Kansas ain't bad, but with the Buhrman albatross around his
splitter, this could be interesting. Nevertheless, #18 it is.

Seems
like Toyota rules in both the trucks and Xfinity races at Kansas whereas all 3
makes do okay in Cup, although Chevy seems to have a tiny edge. Really hard for
me to bet on a JGR Toyota driver though (apologies to all the Toyota fans). I
think I will stick with Kevin one more week and see him and his #4 Ford in
Victory Lane.

Dover
is in the books and off we go to Kansas. Dover was a real let down for this
year’s car concept with a dull race and a sub-par TV coverage. let’s hope we get some better TV coverage this week, I feel
the racing is going to be a tick better than last week’s!!
Winner
this week I don't know, but let’s hope we the fans come out on top and # 4
Kevin Harvick wins the
race!!

Darn
it, got no time
To get poetic this week
Truex back-to-back
Kelly
Meiste
It
appears to me that the hot streak of the #18 has cooled off for the moment and
his teammate in the #19 is the one now on fire. So I'm sticking to my
past theory; when you're hot you're hot. So put me down this week for
Truex to be on top again this week.

Lord
this is a tough group. Got two picks this week. Heart says 1 Head
says the other. Flip of the dime says Martin Truex Jr. in the #19 is the
winner.
Will
Dossett
I
am going to stay with the 42 again. I think that rumors of replacing his
crew chief may have lit their fire.

L. Steele
With
what we're currently seeing, I'm afraid the race winner will be whoever is
leading on the final restart. Hopefully that's Kevin Harvick because he
certainly has to win a race at some point this season, doesn't he? Doesn't he?!

I
sure hate to do it to this driver but so think Joey Logano will do it this
weekend. Sorry Joey.
So
there you have it!
Agree? Disagree? Pick your winner and post it in the comments
below.
Good luck and hoping for a safe, good race!
