Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Homestead
Recap
and Results
Bluegreen Vacations 500
ISM
Race
35-The final race before the Finale saw the Fantasy Racers absolutely nail it
as they picked the race winner, had six in the Top Two, eight in the Top Five
and nine in the Top 10. But for the continuing
terrible luck of Chase Elliott, the entire field could have finished Top 10!
Congratulations
to Hal Ashburn and Frank Buhrman for their race winning Denny Hamlin pick. The forty points helped Frank pick up a
position on the leaderboard.
On
their bumper was our top three in points, Kelly Meiste, PattyKay Lilley, Vicq
Ruiz along with Berra Nordin riding their Kyle Busch pick to second place.
What
a finish! A lot better than what took
place on the PJ-1 covered asphalt in the Arizona desert.
Kelly,
PattyKay and Vicq are still battling for the Top Spot in our Season-long
Championship Race. Can Kelly make his
car wide? Will PattyKay put the Chrome
Horn to Kelly and move him out of the way?
Can Vicq take advantage, if those two tangle? We’ll know this Sunday!
Phoenix
was probably the most impressive performance by the group as a whole. Below are the race results and the latest
Points Standings:

Laps it will all be over. This is the
36th and final race of the 2019 season.
For our Fantasy Racers, it will be their 36th and final pick to decide
it all.
In
Cup, forty cars will take the track.
Four will compete for the Championship. The Dilemma becomes do you pick
from the field or pick from the Four?
We’re going to see shortly.
Our
Championship Four include Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kevin
Harvick. Each have a win here. Hamlin has two.
Non-Finalist
Winners include Joey Logano and Kurt Busch.
Jimmie Johnson, a non-Playoff driver also has a win here.
So
if you are going to pick a past winner, choices are limited. None have won here with the latest HP/Aero
set-up.
Yet
to Win selections include Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman and Brad Keselowski. Kyle Larson has put on a show here in the
past as well.
So
who will it be? Who will be the Final
Fantasy Picks of 2019?
PattyKay
Lilley
Won't
be forced to go astray this week. This one is for all the marbles, and I'll be
happily riding in the Ford of our next NASCAR Champion, #4, Kevin Harvick! Seeya at Daytona!
Frank
Buhrman
I
have lived in Pennsylvania for 34 years and happily call it home, but when it
comes to NASCAR, I'm still a Virginian. It's where I was born, where I saw my
first race and fell in love with the sport, and where I worked on race weekends
(at Richmond Raceway) for 25 years. No Virginian has won the Grand National/Cup
Championship since Joe Weatherly in 1963. Go. Denny. Hamlin. #11.

Although
it is already programmed for a JGR Toyota driver to take the win and
championship in this 10-race playoff, I am going with Happy Harvick #4. Just
have a hard time taking those JGR Toyota combos. Sorry...so GO KEV!!! We can do
this - one more time!
Berra
Nordin
Last
one of the year; feels a bit sad but hopefully you can
come back next year with this Fantasy pool!!
Christmas
is not too far away so I'm going to give you my wish list for Xmas and the
"Championship" finals!
First
up Trucks: I really wish Matt Crafton will win; not only is he a great
guy but also winless so the ideal outcome would be that he comes in second
ahead of the other contenders and a win for Tyler Ankrum
who has done great for DGR!!
On
the list for the NXS "Championship” would be Justin Allgaier, just
because I kind of like him and should have got a better deal in Cup than he
did, but most likely the Bell kid will win!!
And
finally Cup it just must be Kevin Harvick. I've said it for the whole season,
so in order not to JINX him in any way I stick with my plan and pick the one I
like the least, was sure it would be Logano, but I dislike Hamlin even more so
there you have it, my pick this final race of the year goes to #11 Danny
Hamlin!!
To
sum up this I would like to send a big THANKS to David for the time and effort
you put into this and to PattyKay for all the work here at RFF!!!
Vicq
Ruiz
Kelly
and PK
Have frozen out the kid, who's
Hangin' by a thread!
Pickin' with my heart -
Let's see that forty-two car
Slap the big four!
Kelly
Meiste
Dang,
I’ve had that pesky PK in my mirrors all season and I can’t seem to shake
her. My spotter has been doing a great job of letting me know what line
she’s running and when I need to block. So this final race do I go for
the block or try a new groove and hope it sticks?
Let’s
see now, Homestead and Kyle Larson are a match made in heaven. Do I dare
to ride the rails with him this week? Tempting but that would be to nerve
racking for me to watch.
Odds
have it that one of the final 4 will be the one to take it to the
checkers. So who will it be?
Hamlin
– I believe his hot streak will end here.
Truex
– He’s been very good here the past few years so I’m betting his luck will run
out this year.
Busch
– Here’s a wild card, it’s been a long time since he’s seen the winners circle
and he’s probably still pissed “coach” told him to let Hamlin win last
week. It will be checkers or wreckers for him on this final race.
I’m praying the 18 see the wreckers.
JGR
– Well crap, 3 out of the 4 cars racing for the title drive for Gibbs.
Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike JGR?
Harvick
– Looks like it’s the “Big 3 and Me” again this year. So mark me down for
the #4 to put all of the JGR cars in his mirrors this week.
Well
it’s been fun and good luck to everyone, I hope no one gets a DNF this
week. And lastly THANKS David for putting this weekly challenge together
for us every week as I’m sure you have better things to do.
Well
PK lets have at it, reach down and pull them belts tight one last time.
Hal
Ashburn

The
#22... one last time.
So
there you have it one last time!
Agree? Disagree? Pick your winner and post it in the comments
below.
Good luck and hoping for a safe, good race!
Thanks to all who played and followed.
It’s been fun!
