Fantasy Picks 2019 ~ Dover 2
Recap
and Results
Bank of America ROVAL 400
Charlotte
The
29th Race of the season saw the Traveling Circus road racing on the Charlotte
ROVAL. Road races are often crap shoots
as the right turns and tight quarters can often create a wide variety of
results. Adding to it that the race had
been moved up in the schedule a week to make it an elimination race added to
the pressure.
After
all the pushing and shoving and spinning and water bottle throwing was over it
was Chase Elliott in Victory Lane, much to joy of Kelly Meiste, Vicq Ruiz and
Frank Buhrman who had him picked this week. Kelly’s forty points allowed him to
open the gap up slightly back to second place PattyKay Lilley. Vicq used his forty points to move alongside
PattyKay into a tie for second. Behind
them we find another tie between Berra Nordin and Hal Ashburn. 8 long months of racing and we have two sets
of two running side by side. Now that’s
pretty cool!
The
remainder of the points standings remain the same. For the full summary of race results and
points standings check out the following:
Drydene 400
Dover
It’s
on to the Monster Mile for another 400-miler at Dover for the thirtieth race of
the season. This is also the first race in the second round of
Eliminations. Aric Almirola, Eric Jones,
Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman failed to make the cut so we’ll see if any our
Fantasy Racers will pick them up going forward.
The
field will be using the 750HP/No Ducts package.
It’s the same one Chase Elliott won in last week. Speaking of Chase he is the defending champ
of this race. Other winners include
Martin Truex Jr. (3), Kevin Harvick (2), Kyle Busch (2), Brad Keselowski
(1). Non-Chasers who have won here
include Jimmie Johnson (9) and Kurt Busch (1).
Kyle Larson and Joey Logano have had good finishes but have yet to get
to meet Miles in Victory Lane.
Dover
is a tough and demanding track and like Rowdy Burns said last week, “You can’t
win the Championship here, but you sure can lose it here.” It was true at the ROVAL last week and still
true at Dover this week.
It
should be an interesting
Let’s
see how our Fantasy Racers think things will shake out on Sunday. Take it away PattyKay!
PattyKay
Lilley
Dover
is a tough, ugly track to race on... one of the few I was happy to see
shortened. I think the guy I already have is as good there as anyone on
the "Monster Mile" so I'll ride another week in the #19 with Martin
Truex Jr.
Frank
Buhrman
My
pony ran pretty well last week, so he can join Truex in the two-in-a-row club.
Ya think "Million Dollar Bill's Boy" would be a cool name for a
thoroughbred? Let's see if Chase Elliott can make me look good twice.

With
driver's going all out to win not only the stages, but the overall victory
seems to have them more exuberant than usual this time of year. Very hard
to pick a winner because of that and because of all the rule changes. However,
I think I will go Happy Harvick in that #4 to take the black and white
checkered flag first at Dover!
Berra
Nordin
Back
to the Monster mile we go!! Last time we went here we saw MTJ win and my pick
Kevin Harvick finish p4! So my plan this time is to Go with him again and hope
some of you take MTJ or Chase E or one of the Penske boys!! So I'm sorry #4
Kevin Harvick but I'm going to pick you again with the hope that it won't
jinx you!!
Vicq
Ruiz

I'm
putting my money on Truex for another win this week.
