Fantasy Picks ~ Pocono 2
Race Recap and Results
“Foxwoods Resort Casino 301”
This week saw Berra and PattyKay sitting pretty with their Kyle Busch pick until non-picked (how did that happen?) Kevin Harvick pulled the Bump and Run moving them back to second. They still finished second and top finishers for the race, which allowed them to pick up a couple of points on leader Frank, who along with J. L. and Mitch had the other member of the Big Three, Martin Truex, Jr., who finished fourth. These were the only top 10 finishers this week.
Again, we saw no change in our points standings, but Frank now has a rear view mirror full of Berra. Will he get the Bump and Run at Pocono?

It’s been seven weeks since the Traveling Circus was here at the Tricky Triangle. Martin Truex Jr. had the field covered that day. Can he repeat to sweep the season? Kyle Busch won this race last year to get the final jewel in his “won at every track” crown. Can he repeat? The final member of the Big Three, Kevin Harvick has never won here. Is this his week to break that streak? Ryan Blaney got his first win here last season. Will he leave here Sunday with win number two? Other winners include Denny Hamlin (4), Kurt Busch (3) and Jimmie Johnson (2). Other winners include Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Kasey Kahne and Chris Buescher. Will they add to their win totals here or will the trophy go to a new winner?
Let’s see what our group thinks about how this week’s race is going to play out...
And off we go again to my old home track... Pocono! Though the June and July races are only perhaps 5 weeks apart, the weather in the mountains is always different. In June, you get mild temperatures and fog. In July, it's much warmer... and fog. In my memory, she's the only race to be called for fog, Sorry, I don't have the time or space here to regale you with tales of this big old girl, but I love her! I looked back to see who I chose to ride with here in June. It was the #2 of Brad Keselowski. Not this time. This time I'll stick with Ford, but go back to the horse I rode in on, #4, Kevin Harvick.
I'm going with Martin Truex again this weekend, although, as usual, you could pick any of the "Big Three" and feel pretty good about your chances. Of course you could also go for a super-longshot like Chris Buescher a couple of years ago, but I don't gamble at all, much less plan to inside straights.
I think I will be riding with Ryan Blaney at Pocono. Of course, there is a chance he may not win and someone else will. Maybe Harvick, KyBu, Truex or even Kyle Larson will get to the line first on the last lap. Nah, those are too predictable. I will just stick with the young man who won the first race there last year.

Kyle Busch won at Chicago before Erik Jones found a victory at Daytona. After that, Truex and Harvick won. Regardless of who is picked among the "big three," the other two are sure to be up front if things stay true to form. It might seem like it's Busch's turn again but Truex won here a few weeks ago so I'll take him to repeat this Sunday at Pocono.
Sorry I am late, I was helping Gordon Pirkle polish the "siren " at the pool hall... cause we’re gonna ring it this week as the #9 roars back to its rightful glory. Chase Elliott takes it home this weekend.
What to expect from Pocono? As always I'm looking forward to the Long Pond race. I don't know why but I always liked the Pocono races and lately we seen up to 6 -7-wide racing on restarts!! So are we going to someone new to win this time or more of the "same old same old”? Kyle Larson finished second last time so maybe it's his time or maybe Kurt Busch. Time for him to win a race soon, or Ryan Blaney seems to be fast but lacks a bit in consistency He's due to win if he just can simmer down and get the whole race together, BTW IMHO that goes for the rest of the NASCAR youth movement too!!
Well my pick to win, # 78 Truex Jr. will sweep the Pocono races this year!!
I’m sticking with my "No Big Three" strategy in the fast diminishing hope of sand bagging the crowd. I like Kurt B this week. (Anyone around here remember him being known as "Rubberhead"?)
My pick, every week, will be Bubba Wallace. My reasoning is my hope is that Richard Petty will have a successful year with his team and I'm supporting that hope every way I can.
Decisions, decisions. I’m going to go with Clint Bowyer to temporarily derail the Big Three Express as it rolls into Pocono.
