Fantasy Picks ~ Dover
Week’s Recap and Results
It sounds like a broken record but once again this group was all over it. Frank had Joey Logano for 1st, J.L. picked 2nd place Kurt Busch, Mitch’s pick of Chase Elliott landed him a 3rd and Vivian’s got fourth with her Kevin Harvick selection.
Not sure who they used this week but believe me, I want some of it.
Denny Hamlin proved not once but twice that he is without a doubt the fastest man... on pit road, speeding penalties killed his chances and if it wasn’t for the “Big One” allowing him to get a Lucky Dog pass, Dave’s day would have been a lot worse. Bubba slid in with a 16th place finish, while the aforementioned “Big One” destroyed Brad K’s chances by ending his day too early, much to the dismay of PattyKay, Berra and Vicq. When the haul backs finally unloaded and the Speedi-Dri settled we saw Mitch nip Vicq at the line while the points race tighten throughout.

AAA Drive for Autism 400
With the restrictor plates in the rear view its time for sanity to return to the Series... except this week it’s on to the concrete high banks in Delaware known as the “Monster Mile.” There is a reason it has that name.
This one-mile track has been Jimmie Johnson’s since he got back-to-back wins in his first full season on the circuit. 11 of his 83 wins came here. He got his last, his 83rd win here. Can he get back into Victory Lane this weekend?
Kyle and Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. have all taken Checkered Flags here. Will they do it again or will we see a new first time winner conquer the “Monster Mile?” Will this be the weekend the newbies break through or will experience come through again?
Let’s see what our Fantasy prognosticators think will happen this weekend in Dover.
Oh my, Brad and I were taken to the woodshed at Talladega, or more precisely, the SAFER barrier! But Dover is a far cry from 'Dega, and a tough track, both to drive and on which to pick a winner. There was a time when I'd just check off Jimmie Johnson and be done with it, but this is not that time. What it is time for is for Chase Elliott to snag his first Cup victory. He has raced 4 Cup races at Dover, and has a finishing average of 3.2, never out of the top-5. He's knocked on Victory's door many times, but now it's his turn to shine. Watch for the #9 to take the checkers at Dover.
This could be the week for Chase Elliott, who really runs well here and HAS to get a break sooner or later, but I'm going to pick another "overdue" who runs well here, and that's Martin Truex. I think the #78 will bring home concrete checkers.
Since Chevy has more race wins at Dover than any other make, it is only logical that a Chevy could win this one. Jimmie Johnson has been the dominate Chevy driver collecting those wins. That may be case but he has not been doing that great lately, so I hesitate to pick him for the win since he has not been in contention for taking the checkers first lately. Instead I think I will go with a different brand and driver for the win. After much thought, I think we will see the #2 Ford of Bad Brad in Victory Lane after the AAA 400 Drive for Autism race at Dover.

Jimmie Johnson. Yes, Jimmie Johnson. I'm afraid if he doesn't get on track at Dover, he might not do it this year.
My gut tells me Chase Elliott, but this week I am going against my gut feeling and pick Kevin Harvick taking Ford to victory lane one more time!
Dega's behind us; thanks for that!! Plate-racing with the way the package is set now and with the stages is IMHO just stupid!! Did you see that BIG swing the #4 crew threw at Kevin’s car!! Maybe NASCAR needs to take a BIG Swing at the "Plate-package" for next year!
So Dover's next. Too bad Kenseth isn't in the #6 car until Kansas otherwise he would be my pick for Dover so that left me with his former team-mate in the #18 Kyle Busch
Looks like JJ is starting to sort things out, and Dover's one of his best tracks, so put me in the 48 camp this week.
My pick, every week, will be Bubba Wallace. My reasoning is my hope is that Richard Petty will have a successful year with his team and I'm supporting that hope every way I can.
Well, I know one I won’t be going with this week! This has been a season of streaks-first Kevin, then Kyle. I’m going to go with Joey Logano for two in a row to be the third streaker this year.
