Fantasy Picks ~ Chicago
Race Recap and Results
“Toyota/Save Mart 350”
The group did well last weekend on the road course, picking the race winner along with five of the top six finishers with David, Vivian, PattyKay, Frank and J. L. taking positions 1,2, 3, 5 and 6 respectively. Berra’s P-13 finish was enough to keep him in the lead but Frank cut his fifteen point lead more than half, tightening up that points race.
The Dr.’s pick of A. J. Allmendinger looked solid until a missed shift sent him to the garage early. That coupled with J. L.’s 6th place finish resulted in them swapping positions in our Fantasy points standings.
Here is the full breakdown of the “Toyota/Save Mart 350" results-
From a wine country road race to the return of the mile-and a-halfers, the Traveling Circus finds itself this week in Joliet, IL for the Overton’s 400. The race has vacated its coveted spot in the Playoff/Chase/whatever and moved back to a coveted spot before the July Daytona race. A quick review shows that the Big Three of Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. all taking wins here. Kevin Harvick won the first two here; Martin Truex Jr., the last two. Kyle Busch has a July win sprinkled in here as well. Can one of them find their way back to Victory Lane and add to the stranglehold they have on this year’s series?
Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin have a win here. Brad K has two wins. Will they add to their win totals? Ryan and Brad could sure use a “win-you’re in” pass to try to take the crown.
Surprisingly, Jimmie Johnson has no wins here but is one of the strongest drivers at this track. Likewise with Kasey Kahne and Clint Bowyer. Will one of these finally kick the Chicagoland door in? Hard to say, but let’s see what our Fantasy prognosticators think will happen this weekend at “Joliet” Jake E. and Elwood J. Blues’ home track. Can they do as well here as they did at Sonoma?
We've put the first road course to bed and bade a not so fond farewell to Fox and Friends. Now it's on to Chicago, which moves back to its old time slot in favor of Richmond now becoming the first race of the Chase/Playoff nonsense. I see two likely choices here, but one is on a roll and the other has never won a race. Truex/Elliott. I'm not in a gambling mood, so I'll go with #78, Martin Truex Jr. He's won the last two races in Joliet. Chase finished 2nd and 3rd in those. Someday, that kid will win a race... probably many of them, but not this week.
He was supposed to win at Michigan but didn't. He sat on the pole at Sonoma, but things went south from there. He's overdue. Let's go for Kyle Larson in the #42.
Shucks, Tony has best record at Chicago, but he's gone and I do miss him. Kevin, Truex Jr and Kez seem to do well on that track. Hard not to pick Kevin or Martin, but I think I will go with the #2, Bad Brad to win this one.

It's at a mile and-a-half track, you say? Then I'm taking Kevin Harvick, I say.
After watching my pic for Sonoma miss a shift and blow his chances AND his motor, this week I am going to go out on a limb here and say it's time for the sireen to ring in Dawsonville, Chase Elliott for the win!
What to think this week for the Chicagoland Race? You all know who's been on it this year I really can't see any of them other organizations yet to get it done without a good bit of luck and the right strategy working on their side!! But hey, it's racing and sometimes anything can happen! So my pick for the weekend goes to last years pole sitter #18 Kyle Busch! Still don't dare to pick Harvick-won't take the risk to jinx him!
Still stickin' with 2018 non-winners. Let's go with Brad K.
My pick, every week, will be Bubba Wallace. My reasoning is my hope is that Richard Petty will have a successful year with his team and I'm supporting that hope every way I can.
really like to take the 11 car this week but I’ll take the 11 X 2 instead. Logano to take the Checkers this week.
