Fantasy Picks ~ Bristol
Week’s Recap and Results
O’Reilly Auto Parts 500
The Circus made their last stop out West for a while on Sunday. Race day turned out to be boom or bust for our prognosticators as we had six finish in the top 11, with Berra Nordin picking race winner Kyle Busch for a perfect 40 point finish. Kevin Harvick’s second place roller coaster run netted PattyKay and Vivian a cool 35 points. Tim Leeming got his first top-10 finish with Bubba Wallace’s eighth place run. The Dr.-Mitch Walker’s pick Chase Elliott, rounds out the boomers.
Busters (or more correctly Boom AND Busters-Tires go Boom and then they Bust the wall!) Hit hard as tire issues took out Vicq and Frank whose picks of Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Larson landed them in the bottom two positions. J. L. got caught up in the aero-triggered “Big One” that collected his Brad K. pick along with six other contenders.
The results saw the points race tighten up throughout. Berra and PattyKay continue their march to the front, while the remainder of the field shuffled for position like a late race restart. The Fort Worth results are as follows-
Food City 500
It’s NASCAR in April, which can only mean it’s time again to roll out the
“World’s Largest Shopping Cart” for the “Food City 500.” This week the Circus will hit the half-mile high banks of Bristol which is always a test of man, machine and prognostication. The tight quarters, less than acceptable performance with the air wrenches and a Sanctioning Body publicly stung by a week of criticism for inconsistent calls on pit stops makes for an interesting combination for consideration this week. Let’s see what out group thinks about this week’s “Food City 500”.
I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but I’m still enjoying the dance with Kevin! His last 5 starts at Bristol finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th. That’s a finishing average of 4.2. This might be the year of the kiddies, but I’m hanging onto the old man another time. Just hope he shows up in the mountains with a pit crew and at least one viable air gun! #4 for one more!
I really want to pick Kyle Larson, who led both races last year but had rotten luck. However, my own luck with repeating a pick after my guy had a lousy finish has been awful, so I won't do that. Bristol is one of those places is to pick the car that doesn't wreck, and there I just have a feeling about the #4, so Kevin Harvick it is to wear the gladiator's uniform when all is done in the coliseum.
Although there is an assortment of drivers who can win, I am going to stick with the #4, Kevin Harvick to be in Victory Lane at Bristol.

Wow Bristol, how about the car that crosses the finish line first? Well since that won't fly, I am going with the 41 of Kurt Busch with week. He has been running good and I see him being a contender.
So what to expect this weekend? By the looks of it, it seems like Sunday’s winner is once again be Mother Nature or maybe one of them Air Titans!!
Who to win, The Busch Bros have had wins at Bristol and both JGR and SHR are just on it! Sooo my pick #18 Kyle Busch wins back to back!!
I believe I have a 100 percent chance of improving last week's result by sticking with Martin Truex. Book it!
My pick, every week, will be Bubba Wallace. My reasoning is my hope is that Richard Petty will have a successful year with his team and I'm supporting that hope every way I can.
I think SHR will see Victory Lane this weekend. Past and current performance would have Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch as logical picks. Clint Bowyer finding the Winner’s Circle this year should also get a nod. But I’m not a logical guy, so Joey Logano is my pick this week.
